Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is a treatment method applied to teeth whose decay has reached the pulp, which is located in the innermost part of the tooth, in other words in the center, and consists of blood vessels and nerves.
Root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia. Therefore, no pain or ache is felt during the procedure.
Root canal treatment is the removal of the diseased pulp tissue in the center of the tooth, shaping the tooth, washing, drying it, cleaning the root canals with a disinfectant substance, filling and closing them, and then covering them with a filling process or a porcelain prosthesis crown (covered tooth).
